Yeah, I have my taskbar on the side instead of at the bottom. I often used a lot of programs and had a lot of documents open in the past so there was a lot of grouped windows - having the taskbar on the size allowed me to easily pick out the desired windows easily.

I've yet to see any body running Linux, they must be out there somewhere.

Well, I work with a lot of programs for engineering courses, so it's more preferable for me to have a Windows or a Linux setup (I don't like Macs, btw. A lot of the same programs I use often lack some functions when compared to their Windows equivalent; in fact, I found it to be very nightmarish and, therefore, very uncreative for me). I've been thinking about switching to Linux, but I'm holding out because my laptop is kind of, well, old, and it might be better to switch to Linux later if I plan on buying a new laptop (no point in wasting time switching to Linux not if I plan on tossing away the laptop later).

Many people just try one and decide they don't like it. A Mac can only be judged if you've owned one before.

That's not true. You can also have used them extensively at school or work without owning one and get a pretty good idea of how much you like it.

Actually, a Mac is best experienced when you own one yourself. It's just how it is. I've hated Macs until I actually owned one. The other thing, is that when you use a Mac, start with an open mind, and a blank canvas.

You've owned a Mac?

Sort of. I worked in a lab that had both Mac and a [dinosaur] Windows. Using both, I came up with the conclusion that Mac is more better for personal recreation, where Windows was more better for a more office/business setting - considering that I needed space to design high-end graphs and documents, I liked Windows better. But to each his/her own - each person has different computer needs and no one can definitively say which OS is out there is more superior than the other, they can only say which OS system is right for them.

You could always modify your current theme, download other themes, and or download that even allows you to create your own themes. 

I thought you could create themes right in the control panel. (On windows)

Well, you could modify current themes and then save those modifications as your own, but it's not really creating one.

Now this is an example of an XP theme created by someone.
