I have to agree with ToxicQuillz here; you can't really compare Pokemon and Mario besides just "I like this one better."
Both are extremely different games. Mario is a classic, but you have a ton more choices with Pokemon.

You can't really compare them.

1. They're made by the same company
2. One is a lot older than the other
3. Completely different genres; platforming and rpg

The PC vs. Mac thread at least made sense of what was being compared.

Mario Opinion: The most Overrated, old game. Sure, you're controlling the alter ego of Jump man, but, I say it's always the same thing OVER AND OVER AGAIN. Nothing different, and more for Intense gamers. And it gets old after a while, ESPECIALLY when nintendo is trying to make it SO popular.

My Pokemon Opinion: Something new in each game. Different Regions, new characters, Pokemon, and + It facinates me. You take control of a 10-15 year old Boy/girl and travel through the Region, defeating gym leaders and Enemies/allies as you go, on your quest to become the best.(Sorry, Dont mean to rhyme) It's Nintendo's second best-selling game.

My Choice?

I kinda agree on the Mario opinion, but at least it has more varitey than Pokemon. In pokemon, it's just pretty much the same game everytime, only with new pokemon, new story, and other little things. You still try to get all the badges, beat the Elite Four, catch new pokemon, trade them, battle the bad guys, and all that. The biggest improvement to the series was Diamond/Pearl, and it hasn't changed much since then.

On the other hand, Mario is... well, I guess it hasn't changed much either. But I still like Mario better. This is just my opinion.
