Mountain Lion OSX

Has anyone got it yet? They released it today, 25-July 2012 and I'm not sure we're going to get it, but I'd like to hear what you think about it  smile

I was excited to see it had been released this morning when I woke up.  smile

I'm getting it now, but I hope it's not a long download.

It was released while I was asleep  tongue

I'll have to ask my parents if they're going to buy it, because I'm not going to buy it with my own money. I'm saving up for something else  wink

It's a joke . . . I'm fully aware the image isn't entirely accurate.

I find the Windows and Linux parts funny and accurate, though.  smile

I am never ceased being amazed how Windows makes updates so boring and a menial task, whereas other operating systems make it fun and introduce new features and stuff  tongue

What scale updates are you talking about? Day-to-day security updates or like actual releases?

Well with Windows releases are definitely different and have new features, but the smaller updates and service packs are generally ensuring security and compatibility. I'm not too familiar with Mac updates... what kinds of features do the smaller updates bring?

Mac OSX updates tend to bundle things together as much as possible. for example, if you buy a new Mac, you'll have to install software updates. There's probably only going to be about 10 because Apple bundles previous updates with newer ones.

Unlike windows. I recently clean installed Windows on a laptop, and I had to install over 1000 updates. Literally. Most of them 'little' security updates. And every time you install like 300, there's 300 more waiting for you when you reboot.

...you didn't mention any new features.

And I've never found that to be true; a lot of Microsoft's updates get packaged together into a Service Pack.

Yes, those are the major ones, but the little updates still stay  tongue

New features? The only time I got new features from a Windows update was when I got Windows Ultimate Extras and installed Texas Hold em and some other games I didn't know how to play  tongue

The software update I did just now on my Mac installed Safari 6 which has an omnibar-ish feature as well as a new features for iPhoto for publishing to places like Facebook and Messages.

But, I looked, and all of the hardware meets the requirements except for the model. It has enough RAM, disk space, processor, graphics card, etc.

Looking at it, it seems to have a 2.0Ghz C2Duo, 512MB RAM, 64MB Graphics, 80GB HDD... is that the model you have?
