There was a shooting yesterday in Colorado. People were watching the very first showtime of the Dark Knight Rises when they heard a hissing sound. They turned to see smoke and a man with a mask, black clothes, and a bullet- proof vest and he began firing at them, killing 14 people. He killed a toddler at point- blank range. This was in northern Aurora in Colorado, the city I visited two weeks ago. This event was not far from where my sister and her family is, but they are okay. The shooter was caught in the movie theater parking lot. Supposedly, there was another shooter, but he is still on the run. His name is James Holme and he is 24. Who would do such a thing.

Ironically, it happened after 15 minutes into the movie when the shooting began.
Sort of like the time when the movie "Twister" was being shown at a drive-in theater, and right when the tornado appeared in the movie, an actual one came down.

It makes you wonder what kind of person would do this; one thing's for sure, he's not 'right in the head'...

I heard it happened during a gunfight scene.

I read its the largest shooting like this in U.S. History.
Where did you read that?
I thought the largest was the Virginia Tech.
Wait, are we talking about death or do injuries count too

This was an awful incident. Despite the fact that I live in the UK, this seems like a nightmare for the whole of society. I hope justice is served. (wishes Batman was there)

This guy who works for my dad said that the shooter said he was the Joker 0_________e
It's pretty cliche he went crazy and thought he was Bane or the Joker.

My cousin started talking about it, then my mom came home and talked about it too! He said that his appartment is booby trapped.
How does someone booby-trap an apartment without being seen?

But if everyone had a gun, they could have stopped the shooter before he killed these people. [/republicanfailedlogic]
oh my, that makes you look so good. Over a dozen people get murdered in cold blood and you make a jab about Republicans. I bet you're pretty proud of that comment there sir. What happened was tragic and to make a political jab out of it is just horrible, but who am I to judge?
I heard about the shootings and they're tragic. I heard over 50 people were killed or wounded? That's pretty bad. I actually went to a movie on Sunday and there was a police car parked by the theater, not in the lot but right up there, although I'm not sure that has a direct connection to the shootings. There was also a moment of silence for the victims and families before the movies, so I prayed and stuff. Pretty awful stuff.

Gun laws wouldn't have stopped this from happening. No matter what laws are in place, terrorism is always alive. The thing we need to remember is that this was a tragic event, and politics wouldn't have prevented it.
My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by this horrible shooting.
