Obsolete fade blocks

The scratch wiki says that these are obsolete blocks.

Set fade to ()%
Set fade color to []

When I went into the program and recovered all the obsolete blocks, they were not there.

These would be really useful, so 1) do they exist, 2) do they work, and 3) If the previous two are true, can someone link me to a project that has them, or explain how to recover them?

I noticed this project has working blur blocks, so I am hoping that these blocks work as well.

Re: Obsolete fade blocks

The wiki has it wrong, the obsolete block was called "transparency" not "fade". It does the same as the ghost effect.

Grrr...

Is there a way to make a sprite fade a certain color without using an overlay?

What do you mean by "fade a certain color"?

Do you want a coloured silhouette of the sprite, something like the black silhouette you get by doing:

set [brightness v] effect to (-100)
...or something else?  smile

Re: Obsolete fade blocks

Yeah like that. For example, Fading to purple would have the same effect as putting a purple silhouette over the sprite and adjusting the ghost effect.

Re: Obsolete fade blocks

Hmm. I'd suggest a combination of negative brightness and the color effect, but the strength of the color effect gets less the blacker the image.

That's all I can think of now that doesn't involve modding...

Re: Obsolete fade blocks

I think I know what you mean wes64, but you'll have to wait for 2.0 i think because it will have vector graphics which will allow it to have transparency and certain parts of the sprite.

Color + brightness + saturation + ghost effects?

Re: Obsolete fade blocks

-100 brightness overrides the color effect. it is always black.

What is the effect you want?
