bbcode is a code that the forum reads so that you can show images, change text colors etc.  If you want a better explanation, click on BBCode below the text space when writing a post.

This topic explains BBCode really well.

The next version of Scratch will be Scratch 2.0, which will hopefully come out later this year.  smile
