DNS Changer Check-Up
DNS Resolution = GREEN No it was red. just kidding
Your computer appears to be looking up IP addresses correctly!
Had your computer been infected with DNS changer malware you would have seen a red background. Please note, however, that if your ISP is redirecting DNS traffic for its customers you would have reached this site even though you are infected. For additional information regarding the DNS changer malware, please visit the FBI's website at:

Malware, yes, sorry for being so unspecific.
And it's not off-topic, we're still discussing the malware.I'm referring to the part about how supposedly Macs are likely to be infected by viruses. This isn't a Mac vs [whatever OS system] thread.
Still, I was talking about whether Macs can be affected by this malware...
Not really, it was kind of pretty obvious that when you posted "I have a Mac" was more or less a reference to the notion that Mac are supposedly impermeable when the article already points out that Mac are at risk. Something like "how does this affects Mac?" or "Does this affect Macs" comes out as a question as to how DNSChanger affects on'es computer, but "I have a Mac" does not.

It's worldwide. But being part of the 300,000/5,000,000,000 people alive with the internet to have it has minimal odds. So, you really shouldn't have been worried about it from the start. I heard it has backdoor and security-circumventing capabilities, but the truth is yet to be known.

This should settle this whole Mac vs. PC argument:

The malware affected both Windows and OS X.

Perhaps, but what about my Mac OS 9 computer?
That probably won't get affected, but Windows 98 probably won't either/

I've heard some rumors that this whole DNS Changer thing was a hoax targeted at older people who didn't know much about computers. The thing is, I've never heard of this supposed trojan before no. Anyone else think this makes sense?

The FBI has a page about it, so I don't think it is a hoax.

Maybe the government made the hoax to secretly install a program on our computers. Maybe they're watching us right now.
