html page designer scratch mod

edit: all people have been talking about here is how you can do this with other programs and how nortons just being silly and how the mockup is wrong but nobodys actually offered to help. please be constructive and try not to post unless you want to help develop this website designing mod
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
once i tried out html
i just couldnt get used to the idea of typing stuff all the time without any sort of visual representation of what exactly i was doing
later on i thought, "what if there were a scratch mod where you could put together html with blocks and see on the side what you were doing?"
and now here i am asking for help
i dont know any squeak whatsoever and need the help
you could put together html and stuff with blocks and see the page you were creating on the side
heres a basic sort of mockup showing the features and all that:
http://img833.imageshack.us/img833/2237/html2.gif
so please help if you can :)

Re: html page designer scratch mod

That's nice and would help many to learn how to code in HTML.
However, for proper coding, I'm sure the majority of programmers love and largely prefer WYSIWYG editors (such as Dreamweaver)  big_smile

They have a more complete renderer and provide an easier method to code in!

yeah for proper coding you can get like fancy stuff but for people new to html i think this could help them out a lot

Re: html page designer scratch mod

Some things such as frames, JavaScript, Flash and Java would not show in the stage area. I also think the scrolling stage idea would be very hard. This would be very hard to make for someone who does not have any knowledge of Squeak.

Re: html page designer scratch mod

This would be an awesome mod, but a bit hard to code. However, something like this could be coded in BYOB maybe.

I wrote something in panther, it was pretty cool. You could drag items across the stage and it constantly refreshed an html file updating the positions with CSS.
You had to have the images in your files though.

Yeah, but most HTML editors (except WYSIWYG) do the same thing. You have to run it in your browser.

Re: html page designer scratch mod

Norton rejects everything. Its like an over-protective mother. It blocks Panther too.

I've used Weblox before (when I started out with HTML) and its really very good.

actually it accepted panther just fine
either way, i still want to make this mod
i think the way i have it you wouldnt program a single page as a project but rather a whole website

hmm. although it looks interesting, its not quite what i had in mind
see my idea was that it would just create a single webpage at a time like it seems that does but rather lets you work on many pages in a single project
