Maybe for you, but not for anyone else. Your IP is like your address on the web. The port is just the door. 25565 is the default door for Minecraft, that is, the front door so to speak. We can't visit your "house" unless we have the "address" as well as which "door" to use.
Also, make sure you have port-forwarded. If you don't port-forward, it's like leaving the door locked and telling people to come in. They can't. Just like an unlocked door, an open port can be a security compromise

That's likely because you didn't port-forward. Check out portforward.com you may have to skip some ads. Don't worry, it's a very good site.

If you get someone to host it for you, i.e stuzzhosting.com
but if you home host it no

Uggh, you need an ip. IT works for you because you are connecting from "host".
The server and the connection is on the same computer. If you don't enter anything, just the port (:25565), the Minecraft assumes localhost, which is your own computer and tries to connect there. That's why it works for you. We aren't connected to your computer, so it won't work for us.

Please, find a tutorial. It isn't as simple as just clicking a program and it will start up; you have to actually know what you are doing. You can connect on :25565 (although more standard is to use 'localhost' because that is on your own computer. For anyone else to find you, we need to know your address. Another analogy that could be used is that each computer is like a town, and its internet connection is its mailroom. A program sends a packet to the mailroom to be delivered to the destination address. It then sends the message to the post office on the destination computer. If the post office is accepting packets (the port is opened), then the packet will be allowed to enter your network. If not, the packet is wasted.
Try going to Portforward.com to find out how to open port 25565 on your computer. Then, go to a web site like cmyip.com to find your external IP address and give THAT to us.
