I find time lapse videos really cool, they make a slow action seem to happen really fast, and it's fun to see the smallest changes made after every frame changes. Everybody's seen the classic sunset and flower time lapses, but has anyone seen or made any cool ones that are creative and unique?
For a while I've been thinking of all the things I could record in a time lapse, and I want to try some of them, but don't have a time lapse camera. Anybody have or know of a good time lapse camera/camera that has a good time lapse feature that can be used outdoors as well as indoors?

When I do time lapses, I use a simple camera and just use an application that takes pictures every _ seconds/minutes.
Like on a non-camera device? I'd do that except for my iPad doesn't have amazing quality like I want and it's not great to leave outdoors for a night.

I've made some before but on a bad camera.

My camera can take 1 photo per 30 sec, 1, 5 or 10 min. Not very good for extra long duration time lapse but great for short ones
Basically, you want the exact same exposure levels, and the exact same location for each shot. Other wise you will get a jittery video.
There is also this camera that creates a time lapse automatically...

I once made a timelapse on my ipod flying over the rocky mountains.
Anyways, If you have tons of storage space, you could make a video and speed it up a ton on a normal camera.

I saw that one but $140? that seems slightly overpriced.

My friend's camera has such a feature and amazing picture quality, but it's really expensive and I don't even know the model.
Timelapses can be pretty interesting to watch though

I'm thinking of getting a regular DSLR camera anyways, so I might just get one with a great time lapse feature.

Maybe someone could make a timelapse of making a complicated scratch project?

Screen time lapses are cool, I once made one on the newest projects section of the home page.

I've experimented with time lapses in the past (I've made a couple of them in the form of projects years ago), and just yesterday, I finished making a video that involved many stop-motion/time lapses.

I have always wanted to make a Duct tape Wallet Time Lapse, but I can't find a good free website/app to do so. Help, please?

The sun moving across the sky! I wanna do that with my 3DS, but I can't position it right inside. Outside is too risky.

For a timelapse, I basically record what's happening on the camera, then import it, and then I speed it up in iMovie or something. Does that count as cheating?
The purpose of the time lapse movies is to speed something up, so speeding it up more may count as cheating.

Rather than get a dedicated time lapse camera its much better just to take photos regularly over an extended period of time and then make it into a video manually using iMovie.
