Hi - brand new to Scratch and my son is about as fired-up as I've seen him. Would like to download to his PC but it's not currently connected to the Internet - and won't be for a year or two. Is it possible to download Scratch to a CD/flash drive and just install it on a stand-alone PC? Thanks for any insight. -Jeff

It is really exciting to hear your son is very enthusiastic about Scratch! I felt that way when I first found out about Scratch, and as a 14 year old, I would imagine alot of kids would think that way!
Yes, it is really simple, you can either copy the installer onto a usb/disk, or just copy over the files. You can also run Scratch of a usb or disk, so you do not need to install it!
Steps:
1. Download the Scratch installer (either windows, Mac or Linux)
2. Copy to a USB/disk (sadly, not a diskette )
3. Insert USB/disk into your sons computer
4. Run the installer
5. Select your own personal selections
6. (OPTIONAL) as a parent, you may not want your son to share projects, or access drives, so edit 'scratch.ini' to your preferences.
7. Run Scratch, and direct it to the 'scratch.image' file if needed.
8. Create fully sick projects!
