Population is especially jarring.
Every time it goes up two, it goes down one from that.

I also looked at the amount of oil left. By the time I am 55 years old, there will be NO MORE OIL.
Edit: this is my 1300th post!

By the time you are 55, we will most likely be living with entirely clean energy.

If people are anything like they are now (hating any kind of change and refusing to see the huge flaws with everything that's going on today), that won't happen.

They'll be forced to deal with it or not use their car.
Arguably, we would solve the obesity problem through energy free biking!
(Well, OIL. Not no human energy)

I walk/run as much as I can for transportation, and because of that I am 1. in really good shape (I also run on the cross country team) and 2. have my weight under control.
Also, I really hope the entire world could quit smoking. I actually need air that is not full of tobacco smoke.

Prohibition has never worked well.

Actually, I have been in several places with complete smoking bans, and it has worked well.
I also wish my grandfather would quit smoking (he is only expected to live for another year due to various problems, including lung cancer). If he quit, he might live longer.

And then a genius will invent a water powered engine (or the government will stop trying to hide it )

I know. Both my mom and my little brother have asthma and nearly have an attack when they are around any smokers (and half my family smokes )

Public smoking ban, right?

My city has banned smoking in places where minors can get in, as well as in bars.
And I think there is a plan to make it entirely banned.
However, smoking in cars or houses will always be a danger.

Where I live, there is no public smoking ban, but people generally don't smoke much.
Where I am now, you can't smoke anywhere except a private residence, and that is really nice (because the people I am staying with do NOT smoke).

If I see someone smoking near me, I cough . . . obnoxiously.

Me too! I also sometimes tell it to their face that I like being able to breathe.
Anyway, let's get back on the topic of the worldometers site.

I hate the way "on topic is dealt with on Scratch.
It's as if it has to be directly stated by OP to be on topic.
Our discussion rooted from prior discussion of the topic post.
We are on topic.
Sorry, but that's really annoyed me. There's something against natural flowing discussion on this place or something.

Yeah, I just didn't want a mod to get mad at us. Hopefully, they will understand.
Back to the thing above: smoking actually has to do with Mod Share 3. I was at my dad's dad's house, and he smokes a lot. So, I spent as little time with him as possible. I spent most of my time in an empty room with my laptop, and programmed Mod Share. That's how the site got created as fast as it did.

You are now pro-smoking because it makes you productive.

Only in that case. Even if he didn't smoke, he's not a really nice guy, so I would have still spent most of my time in an empty room on my laptop.
My point was that due to him smoking, I couldn't stand to be around him any more than I had to.
