why does the failed: unknown reason come up?
Do you get that error every time you try and share a project or just sometimes?
It could be an Internet connection failure or a firewall problem such as in this note: http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/viewtopic … 377#p16377

Yeah I can't upload projects either...and just so people don't bother wasting my time, THE PROJECTS I'M TRYING ARE NOT BIG! So instead of "reconfiguring my internet" or "disabling my firewall", I don't think I should have to do that, I think this scratch website is going nuts lol.

I can't upload any of my music projects...it says "Failed: Address not found". I have tried many times to upload it but it says the same thing! WHAT DO I DO??

When I try to upload my projects, the only programs I have open are my Scratch project and the main Scratch page on Internet Explorer. (and I'm logged in)

do you have a slow connection? if you do, try to use a different computer. is the file to large? then go to the extras menu and checkmark compress sounds and images

Try opening scratch and delete the cat and leave the background white with no other backgrounds. Test an upload.

Some school computers work with a proxy server which I hear breaks the Scratch upload feature. I don't know of a work-around being pretty ignorant of network stuff - sorry.

Here is an article on proxy servers...

Maybe you can talk to the people that maintain your school's network and describe your problem? If you are having trouble, probably a bunch of your classmates are as well.

It's not likely that the problem is with your computer. It is most likely with the way the network is set up at your school. I think you need to get the technical people at your school involved.
