Custom Scratch Blocks in 2.0

Now I don't mean defining block procedures, these are actual blocks.

And I also don't mean new Blocks via changing source code - that's too hard for some of us.

What I mean is this: there is a section on the 2.0 website that "sells" new blocks, like a library. The blocks are as easy to get as downloading a project.

You download the blocks in a project, right click on it, and if you don't already have it, it will say "Append to Palette" and add it to your blocks.

The blocks will be similar to the current custom block library, but easier to get.
And there are tons of projects with block Ideas.

Thanks!

Re: Custom Scratch Blocks in 2.0

If the scracth team is inventing new blocks, they would probably just come out with Scratch 2.1.

Re: Custom Scratch Blocks in 2.0

The Scratch team would probably not add alot of new blocks to the actual Scratch program because it clutters the palette. If this were added, not everyone would have to get the extra blocks.

Re: Custom Scratch Blocks in 2.0

What if when you made a new block using the custom block editor you could upload it to the website and other people could download it to their projects. USER GENERATED BLOCKS!

180 sec posting rule got me again.

Re: Custom Scratch Blocks in 2.0

I support, but it would already be possible.
You can make a lot of blocks into a sprite, upload, and then tell people to download it and export the sprite and then they would have the blocks you made. That doesn't mean I wouldn't enjoy a better way of doing it...

Re: Custom Scratch Blocks in 2.0

but that way, the blocks wouldn't be part of the palette.
you would have to import the sprite each time you wanted the blocks

thanks!

Off topic, but Id like a way to save created blocks inside the program so you wouldn't have to do this.

Re: Custom Scratch Blocks in 2.0

In 2.0 there's a "backpack" to do this...

wait, did I just disprove myself?
