So yeah, they're coming up soon and stuff.
Personally I dislike the Olympics because of how thousands of people lose there houses and are split up from friends and neighbours and stuff since they demolish homes in order to get room for the stadium. Also, the Olympic stuff like clothes and such are made from child labour in China and places like that, who are paid next to nothing. Yet big companies get rich off it, like McDonalds and Coca Cola. Also it costs the government billions which could be used on increased support for the NHS etc.
But anyway, enough being a downer, I guess it's still sounds pretty exciting... Is anyone going to see/watch it? What are you views on it?
[Not sure if this fits in here, but I remember another Olympic-related topic from ages ago in here, so I think it should.]

Apperntly. I think those things you said are false.
Yeah. People like to think that. But it really is true, I'm afraid.

Yeah, towards the end I think. I was hoping to see badminton all year in 2008 but when I finally found it I was at my friends house and he didn't want to watch. T-T

Most Brits don't want it and think that our economy won't take it and that the roads will fail and tube lines overcrowded.
They're not far from wrong. Here's an example.
The A3 is one of the most important and (in)famous roads in the UK, going London to Portsmouth, a port so supplies and food and such. The stretch near the borough of Kingston South West London is a "gold" route and is closed to the public who need to use it to go on holiday or such.
Great idea. Not.
Go tennis anyways.

Hey look it's a duplicate.
I'll watch the football (and table tennis, if they have it), but that's about it. Where did you hear they're demolishing peoples' homes to build the stadium?

It's a widely known fact, and they don't just have a nice big are in the middle of london ready for a stadium. I should probably note though, the people are given money for new houses. But it's still very inconvenient and you get split up from friends and neighbours. And it's not a nice thought to think your old home has been destroyed I guess.

I have to pay to go to my local park during the Olympics (the bike race goes through my road and my park). The things he said were true. They're having missiles in London for the first time since WWII. It's actually despicable.
The mascots are terrible, so's the clothing... I don't like it at all. I have a feeling I'm going to have to pay to get out of my house during the Olympics.

Hm okay. I agree, that's wrong.
EDIT; By that I mean I don't think they should be doing that. Just in case you thought I meant that your post was wrong.

Since there's already a topic about the London Olympic Games here, I'm closing this thread.
